Update & Fashionable Pause

As you know curvy divas, we were still in the process of finding a template that is the right fit for our vision.  Well, I could not resist trying out several looks this past weekend.  It is still a work in progress as we continue to work on this effort.  If you should log in and see a different look, or if links do not work, don't worry, we are all over it!

While we do that, there are several things to share with you curvy divas. First, the winner of the blog scavenger hunt is........ta da da da.....Janet from New York! Yes! Should you be reading this Janet, we will be in touch!  I do hope our blog scavenger hunt was fun for all.  If you haven't figure out the phrase, it is a quote from yours truly which you can find on our Fan Page, Fabulously Curvy Blog on Facebook in the "About" section.  You have to go see for yourself, especially if you haven't yet stopped by to see what we are up to in that neck of the woods! :)

The mini movie slide created via Google Photos

Also, I've been busy trying my hands, or should that be my vocals...at creating a jingle for the blog.  It has been a lot of fun.  If you take a walk over to our Instagram one of the mini-movies designed via Photogrid has the very first jingle we created.

Lastly, because things are a bit hectic at the moment we must take a short break, just a wee one, we will return with new articles later this week.  We will continue to tweak this new template and if it doesn't work, we will return to the previous look and begin the search until we find one to meet our needs.  Do catch up on other articles that you may have missed.  Did you read our three year anniversary article?  If not, you should!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
