What I Wear in a Day: Happy Earth-Day Birthday

It's that time again curvy divas, my special born day, Earth-strong, my birthday!  And it is Earth Day.  Once again we are taking a fashionable pause to mention the two.  First, go to this link to read more about activities and what you can do for our planet.

Here are photos of two of our gorgeous potted plants: The White Lily and the Amaryllis. I love my plants & flowers!

I did the usual annual write up about my birthday on my Lifestyle blog, over at Foreverserenity.  Go to this link to read more, and you will discover my age...it's the big reveal. I'm very happy and proud to be here, alive and well for another birthday, especially this one!
I had quite a surprise this past weekend, an early celebration gift with a visit to a popular spot in Orlando, Howl at the Moon. I sang, I dance and I had fun!
I had instructions to wear these (glasses, sash & pin) and was then driven to my surprise!

My JLO jumpsuit was absolutely amazing.  I decided to belt it with a broad belt.  What do you think?   I had a little snag in that while I had put the bra straps in the back in an "X" for the style of the jumpsuit, I couldn't fix it that way for the front too, so I left the straps normal.  As you can see it in the photo above.  But guess what?  I realized at the end of the evening that I could have just pinned the straps into place because the bodice would have accommodated that...ah well. Note to myself for next time.  Has that ever happened to you where you realized you could have styled your look a different way, after you got dress and was out and about with your gorgeous self?  LOL! We live and learn, yes?!

Do stop by and say hello for my birthday when you read this, ok?! And once again, a big shout out to Google for giving me a Birthday Doodle!  Ahhhhh~

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
