The 10 Best Mascaras According to Elle Magazine

If you had to have only one makeup for the rest of your life.  Or say you had to leave everything you own except take just one makeup item with you, what would it be? Lipstick? Lip gloss?  Facial Powder?  According to Megan Cahn, the writer of the article I read on Elle.com who believes that most women makeup of choice would be the mascara.  So she has, with the help of beauty editors and staff from Elle Magazine, put together the 10 best mascaras there is out there for us women. How nice of her curvy divas!

Of the ten selections she has made. I have chosen my three (3) favorite.  I haven't used any of these before and will definitely put the ones I like on my want list for this year!

The mascara that looks so fake (but your lashes are real)!

"The 'They're Rea' mascara is so good, it looks like you're wearing fake eyelashes"! This according to Leah Chernikoff.  Hmmm, no you see why this is one of my three favorites?! Who wouldn't want their lashes to look full and gorgeous?!

Maybelline's Colossal Volume Mascara
Senior News Editor Sarah Holmes said she loves Maybelline's Colossal Volume mascara because it gives her thick, clump free lashes.  I like my eyelashes to be volumnous and I dislike clumps. They always makes me feel as if I'm going blind! Have that ever happened to you?  Mental note that this will be the next mascara I purchase.

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara
The look of this mascara is aesthetically pleasing to me.  I like that it has a curved wand which means my lashes will be coated with lots of love!lol! No seriously, Fashion Editor Danielle Prescod has used the Diorshow brand and loves it because she can put a lot of it on and not have goob of it on her lashes.  I definitely want to try it.

I love this list and will definitely keep it as a reference guide. Do let me know if you found this helpful, or not.  Follow the link  to find out which were the other seven on the list of the 10 best mascaras.

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
