Paris Fashion Week: The Look in Couture for Spring 2015

You know how much I love fashion for us curvy divas, hence this blog. You also know that I love fashion in general because of what I do share with you from my perspective.  But did you know that I love Couture?  Stop by and visit my dedicated Pinterest board.  I enjoy posting to it all things couture from around the Intraweb.
This a gorgeous look from Giambattista Valli - love the Tulle!

You may already love couture yourself because if you love fashion that is made to order, well, you are a fan!  As a young girl at Primary school I had to take Sewing and Needlepoint.  My mom was enthusiastic for me to be in that class to learn how to sew.  It was where I learned to sew embroidery, how to stitch and even design and cut.  Alas for my young mind at that point, I was just not awed by that class and was very happy when it was over.  My focus was more on writing and acting which I continued through high school.

It is interesting that my blogs have brought me full circle, directing my path to my love of writing, and back to my love of Fashion and Couture!  In Elle Magazine, Ruthie Friedlander wrote about the recent Couture Week in Paris. As usual the style-look, details and texture are absolutely divine.  These are a few of my favorite looks featured in the Elle magazine article.

I love the texture of this Georgio Armani Prive' design

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
