Curvy Trends: Denim - What to Buy, Keep & Try in 2015

As we continue into 2015  curvy divas, the fashion trends continue to have us scrambling watching for what's next, and what we will actually be trying and adding to our closets.  I'm going to be honest with you, denim was never a popular clothing choice for me when I could finally make my own fashion choices as a young woman. Unlike my friends, being on the other end of the curvy spectrum meant being the center of attention, not what I appreciated back in the day.

As a grown up, when it comes to denim, I'm loving it a lot more and I've shown you how to cuff them, tell you what you might wear with them, and now I'm doing you one even better.  As I continue to follow the fashion trends, looking at what's in, new and continue to be popular, using Glamour Magazine's Leah Melby's article as inspiration for the latest on the denim trend.

Jeans to buy: Vintage; ripped and torn. Why? Because they're in again.  I'm actually seeing more ripped jeans in the stores, so yes, they're back.  My dream ripped jeans to buy?  I'm on the hunt for a pair of boyfriend-style ripped jeans this year.

Jeans to keep: Skinny; have become my favorite type of jeans so far. This curvy girl quite enjoys wearing them.  I will share why in another article.  In the meantime, grab a pair of pointy-toe stilettos to wear with your skinny jeans. Trust me, they go really well together!

Do you want to know which jeans you should try?  Walk your fingers over to the article linked below to see. Trust me, it is one you least expect.  I have learnt something new, and will be on the hunt for these too!  Do let me know what you think about Leah Melby's article, and share with us your favorite jeans to wear!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
