The Cost of Christmas 2014 - PNC Christmas Index

I've shared this information before on my d-foreverserenity blog and will continue my tradition of writing about it on my fashion blog instead. Why? Well, it is about the cost of Christmas.  We love to shop and share fashionable information, and in our economy, what we buy, what we spend and how we shop, is a part of our aesthetics.

PNC Wealth Management, pncmc.com, often shares this information based on the Christmas Carol, the 12 Days of Christmas.  Think about it curvy divas, if you were to actually buy everything on the list from this song, what the cost would be?  Well, that's where PNC comes in, they have actually done all the work and put the cost together for each items mentioned in the Christmas Carol!!  How neat (amazing) is that?! ~Sing w/me~ "On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me...."

The first item in the song - A Partridge in a Pear tree.

The cost of the Partridge and the pear tree have gone up, according to PNC because shipping charges are higher now.  Cost = $207.68

Two Turtledoves = $125.00 no increase here, go watch their cute "Dovesteps" video!lol!

Three French Hens = $181.50, an increase - Vive Les Hens!hahahaha...cute dressed up, they've obliviously had their feathers done!

Four Calling Birds = $599.96, no increase - I'm rolling on the floor with this one!lol!

Now for the big one, what would be the cost of Five Gold(en) Rings? $750! While the cost of gold has risen, the retail price is the same.  (Read why from that link)

Do you want to know the rest?  Me too, However, while I'm going to peruse at will on my own, I'm linking the website below for you to go watch, laugh and share, so the world can laugh with us too!   What is the total cost of Christmas 2014?  A whopping $27,673.22! (up by 1% but still costly!)  Do let me know what you think about this.

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
