Fall Fashion Chronicles

fabulouslycurvy.blogspot.com
Strolling around the stores for Fall the look is very familiar, prints were everywhere. On leggings, various tops, dresses, even on denim. The materials were also  quite familiar,  sateen, viscote, cotton mixed with polyester; or spandex, polyester type jagger pants, and yes, jogging & yoga pants too.  Dare I say VINTAGE is back!  That is exactly what this year's Fall Lookbook is, Vintage. Chain link belts, high-waisted jeans; even  dress trousers were high-waisted; and glitter the mainstay holiday trend was everywhere.

Yes curvy divas, fashion has come full-circle and vintage have arrived in all its splendor, even more than in any other year it seems to me, although really, vintage never left the fashion world. Fashion left vintage on the floor for a while. But not anymore. The love affair is on again!  I've even spotted polyurethane military-style boots!  Yes, those cute plastic shoes even I used to wear back in the day!

It's happened in the movies where they are remaking everything, with movie makers sometimes putting their own spin on whatever genre they are remaking.  Consider this the rebirth of vintage.   The Harem style pants aka MC Hammer pants back in the day, have become the go-to style even here in Orlando.  ~Sidenote: for some reason my pre-teen and her friends call it Mick Jagger pants...I think it's because they are named Jagger Pants....lol!

I'm happy to report that here in Orlando, the trend is the same for us curvy girls. While there are still those very staid-looking moo-moo styles, and not so attractive style for full-figured women, stores like Macy's and Kohl's have us in mind with their print leggings, faux leather styles and other fitted fashion such as A-Line skirts.

Comparing my Red Pazzo Military style throwback boots to the Polyurethane boots

I've been perusing my fav mag-rags and will share some of their ideas for fall in subsequent articles.  What do you think about the polyurethane  boots, would you wear them?  Have you been shopping for Fall yet?  What is your must have item?

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
