Curvy events: Get your Curve On - Curve Nation Welcome Reception

This blogger had the pleasure of attending Curve Nation's Welcome Reception, day 1 of their fashion weekend, held at the International Palms Resort. When I walked into the hotel conference center this evening (Friday, June 11th) I was greeted by a bevy of very beautiful women.

The atmosphere was one of expectation and fun, fun, fun curvy divas! I was impressed with the selection of merchandise the Artisans who will be at the EXPO tomorrow (Saturday, July 12th) has to offer. Quite a few of these entrepreneurs make their own stuff! From natural, organic soaps by Two Sisters Soaps & Sundries, to clothing and jewelry by Lipstick Killer Collection & Beyond the Curves Boutique.

There was also a plethora of make up and skin care mavens whose natural & cruelty free products promises to enhance our skin. Anti-aging skin care by M3K beauty, Kim Johnston created this line after getting fed up with the products being offered for women that did nothing much in making her feel and look better. M3K beauty is also a co-sponsor of this event.

Younique Products, a no cruelty, naturally free makeup and skin care line; Brushes of Beauty by Angelia Stevenson; Jay Jill Cosmetics has products geared for everyone and particularly for African American skin.

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog. If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat! I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times. My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went! Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!! While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size. Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!! I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me.
