Trend alert: White bags

You're not thinking about this right now curvy divas because you're probably frozen-in somewhere with no where to go. But think about this, you in your best spring or summer outfit, and the best looking white handbag out there that will make you strut, not walk! Can you visualize that image yet?  Hmmm, I can. And if you can't, lets get you out of the doldrums and forget about the icicles forming around you.  Here are some tips I wanted to share on how you should be wearing your white handbags in the seasons to come.

  • When wearing your white bag the best fabric to wear are knits, nylons, and satin.  Do you know why?  The dye from other types of material can rub off on your bag, and there's nothing like spoiling your best pocketbook* and not being able to clean that navy ink off.

  • It's also better to wear any other color shoes but white when you wear a white handbag. I've seen a few people do this. While there's nothing wrong, other than perhaps the "nurse effect", it is much better to wear any other color but white on your feet.

Of these three  celebrities, which looks the best?

  • When buying your white handbag, choose leather or a coated canvas, where stain or dirt won't get to it easily.  I would also choose a cloth one because I could throw it into the washing machine....unless it has lots of hardware, then it's a hand wash!

Doesn't Victoria Beckham looks really great here?!  Note the color of her shoes.

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
