How to Style Leggings for a Cool Look

If you remember curvy divas, last summer I wrote my first article about Leggings.  I've even written about men wearing Meggings!   And from time to time, I have featured other articles with leggings!  This time I've found an article on Refinery29.com showing us tips on how to wear leggings the cool way!   I must admit that not being a size 0, I sometimes tend to cover my "assets" when wearing certain styles, leggings being one of those styles!  I usually layer long with short to give me a cleaner look.  I see from this article that I was on the right track!

Joanna Riedl shows us how to style leggings well when we wear them by getting tips from some Fashionistas on the streets, in her article: "5 Locals Show us to Style Leggings - The Cool Way!" Photographs are by Maria del Rio:

Of the five Fashionistas she featured, I selected my two favorites!

Michele Janezic, Buyer & Manager at Mill Mercantile & designer at Janezic

She believes in buying quality over quantity and says "less is more" but when styling leggings "balancing proportions, textures & color are important"! Her leggings "no-no, not wearing tights as leggings"!

I love Michele's look! I've worn this look before and quite agree with her philosophy! So true, tights (pantyhose, exercise tights) are tights; are thinner than leggings and usually have feet!  Leggings are usually thicker than tights and are footless!

My second favorite look is this leather leggings:

Olga Montserrat, Art Director & blogger at twelveofour.blogspot.com

Olga thinks leggings gets a bad rap and consider them to be her most "hard working item in her wardrobe"!  She loves her leather leggings for their versatility! Her leggings "no-no: not covering your front area appropriately";  which means say no to camel-toes so you have to layer appropriately curvy divas!

I'm in, I want a pair of leather leggings!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
