Love it or Leave it?

I've mentioned before curvy divas, that I do enjoy going to the Thrift Store, rummaging, looking, and seeing if there's anything that I might be interested in.  I haven't?  Hmmm, must have been on my personal blog!  My bad!  Anyway, one of the things I like to do is to also look for vintage curvy styles, or any curvy styles for that matter.

I have a love of accessories that is beyond anything else (not counting my family, etc!). I love handbags, costume jewelery, etc.!  It doesn't matter to me if it's not brand name, although if it is, that's a major plus. Today I found two items that I liked a lot. Actually, four, but we're only going to look at two of them because the two I'm definitely keeping, a beautiful white Express tank in white (no photo yet) & a grey fitted jacket, less than $10 for both!!! Talk about shopping on a budget!lol!

Now to the items that I'm on the fence about:

I love silver usually, but don't mind gold, or gold-tones & this will fit in with my style!
This is a gorgeous bracelet!

At $3.99, that's quite a find. I love the style, almost like gladiator bands! I've been looking for a bracelet similar to this, not necessarily with the beads, or mesh, and such; it has a magnetic closure.  The meshed bed is a perfect foil for the beaded attachments.

Then there is this find...before I show it to you, I've written about why counterfeit goods are bad for the fashion industry and I'm not a supporter of such.  I will purchase items that are store brands aka as "Private Labels" or "House Brands".  And I will support designs made legitimately that are a variation of any major designer, hey, it's a competitive world. However, I won't support counterfeit a.k.a. passing off a product to look like the real thing! So that said.  At the Thrift Store, knowing how goods are obtained, from owners...I found this purse and before I even thought about the brand, the silhouette captivated me as I walked into the shop and saw it sitting on the counter (as if waiting for me, har, har)!!!

When I got home, I noticed another tag on the bottom, at a much higher price, $4500???!!!! - so I'm wondering about that price. I've scoured the Intraweb for anything that looks like it...nothing!

I've looked inside of the purse, it's not tagged with the Fendi label inside, nor does it have any other authentication inside the zippered section.  It's a great looking purse, but I'm on the fence. At $14.99 from the Thrift Shop, it's a great buy.

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
