Zara Stores...American Women too fat?!

Zara Sizes for women
I have seen these stores before, Zara, and their clothing look pretty nice. I don't recall going into one of them and perhaps it is a good thing!  Thursday on Good Morning America (GMA) it was reported that Zara stores won't expand further opening more stores here in the US because American Women waistlines are too big! Really?!

The store's main clientele is smaller sized women.  They do well in Europe and Asia, but not so great here because they don't carry sizes for the curvy divas in the United States!  Proof in point, there were two fashion bloggers with the Journalist reporting, who were size 18-20 and could fit into an XL most times.  When they tried the clothing at Zara, they couldn't even fit an XL. The reporter who wasn't a larger woman by any means, just fit into the XL!  They do make their sizes too small! As noted by the model from the article I read below.  She's a size 4/6! So even a smaller sized woman or a regular sized woman doesn't fit into their design!

I say we don't take this lying down curvy divas.  It's an insult to our intelligence, plus size curvy divas are fashion mavens and we love to shop too!  Our money is just as good as the next woman's.   The market for curvy diva fashions is still so small.  When are these retailers going to get it?   Our market is a strong one.  It's time they stop making us feel as if we're not important!  We shouldn't stand for that! Zara retail, shame on you!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
