Your Best Sweater Choices Ever!

Are you feeling it yet?  That cold breeze nipping at you that makes you shiver~brrr~? Although I live in Florida curvy divas, it does get cooler here too.  Sometimes it gets really cold!  It has gotten as cold as 34 degrees, and for this warm weather climate, THAT is COLD!  Although I've lived in a colder climate before, I haven't lived in an extended cold climate for 10 years now. So, even feeling a bit of breeze at 50 degrees, is COLD to me!

Lauren Bernstein on Glamour.com/fashion wrote an article on the Best Sweater for Your Body Type and shared the best sweaters for us curvy girls, and every other body types should wear! We sometimes tend to over do it whenever we're trying to downplay our curves.  Some of us will wear clothing that is too large and loose, which tends to add too much volume to our shapes.

Diagonal waist sweater is very slimming! You could pair this with a straight skirt, legging or jeans.

This is by The Limited on eloquii.com in sizes 12-24 - $55

This sweater, long in back & shorter in front, will make your legs look longer! This is even perfect if you want to camouflage your derriere, or even make it look cuter!  Definitely worn with pants or leggings, not skirt.

DKNY Jeans on lanebryant.com - XS-XL; 14/16 - 26/28 - $69-$79

Love this color!  It's great to take the attention away from your lower body. Wear this with a darker color pants or leggings.  A line skirt of any length would also work!

Joe Fresh on joefresh.com - XS-XL - $79

This one would also help to focus the looks away from your legs!

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...

Window Shopping Part Deux - What I Chose

As you know from my last article , I went shopping for swimsuit with my teen Mandi and ended up doing the same for myself. After all, I was in need of a new bathing suit. My last purchase for one was from Target eight years ago! And also during that time, I was the lucky recipient of two new suits from my BSFFL (Best Sister Friend For Life) who visited from Europe! So Those have lasted quite a long time!

Fashionistas - What's in a Word

You have heard this word before curvy divas , "Fashionistas"?  When it comes to anything to do with fashion and being fashionable, I am sure you have!  Do you know who coined the word and how it came about?  Well, first of all I didn't even realized that there was a story to the word, much less it being "coined" by any one particular person!  I just thought it was one of those words that came about and became popular because of its usage and in reference to anything fashion! According to Elle.com's Culture News, in an article by Rebecca Moss , the word Fashionistas was first created by Stephen Fried. In 1993, Fried, a young Journalist was writing a book about the Model Gia Carangi, who died very young, (sidenote-have you seen the [autobiography] movie of the same name, Gia? - I did and it is one to watch)!  Stephen met with people in the Industry and wanted a word that would represent who and what they were.  Because models and the Industry weren't p...
