What to Wear for Thanksgiving Dinner?

It's a dilemma for, perhaps, many women right now? The guys probably might worry about this too, but for now, we're focusing on us girls, right curvy divas?! I'm not going to a big formal affair, just dinner at my daughter's house with her fiance and my grandson.  It will be a family affair, just us, and them...and anyone else who might stop by!lol!

I'm loving this cotton sweater and jeans or dressed pants idea.  A scarf is a perfect layer to this outfit! It would mean I won't be too warm, or feel cold if the weather changes!

That's a good thing, when you don't have to get too dressed up for Thanksgiving Dinner. However, it's a special day and for some of us, we might want to look nice, wouldn't you agree?!  My youngest has already picked out her outfit which she showed me last night, a pair of teal blue leggings with blue tulle skirt and a teal tee shirt! Then she asks me, "What are you wearing mommy"?  I don't know.

We're in Florida and while the weather does get cool, and has been cooler the last couple of days, it can go full blast to summer weather like that ~ snaps fingers~!
I love the idea to belt a sweater with jeans. You can wear a light jacket too!  Note the layers

Plus, you know what curvy divas?  I'm not going to be afraid to eat!!!!  So, I've got to wear something that won't let me feel too suffocated, or too comfortable where I overeat!lol!

I'm loving this blouson dress! I like the idea of wearing a dress to dinner!

These two looks Nordstrom's buyers suggested for a night out, why not at your dinner tomorrow?  I think either outfit works so go for it!

I also love the color and texture of this dress!

Then I saw this, trusty, comfortable leggings...and I went, hmmmm....I'm putting my outfit together mentally already! ~smile~

I do hope you will have a wonderful day tomorrow my fellow Americans, wherever you will be celebrating your time with your families!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Me 'n My 'Fro: On Being Natural - How it began

I mentioned the first article I wrote   about my hair that I would share with you my hair journey curvy divas. For the next couple of Wednesdays, that is what I will do on this blog.  If you are black aka African American as we say here in the United States (technically, I'm Caribbean-American), you know the ins and outs of our hair journeys. The success, when you rock your hair and look fierce; the woes, when you just give up and put on a hat!lol! And even wear a hat, just because you wanna rock that new hat!   I have always had what some called "a head full of hair", so much that the authenticity of my hair came into question quite a couple of times.  My mom loved to style our hair (my sisters and me) and would always have her girls looking beautiful in ribbons and hair clips where ever we went!   There are two incidents I remember distinctly, as a child, and as an adult.  Once in Primary school (that is Elementary here in the USA), a teach...

Fabulously Curvy Nominated for The Liebster Award

Fabulously Curvy has been nominated by a fellow Blogger whom we love to follow, our local royalty, Princess Kaija of the blog, The Life and Adventures of Princess Kaija .  She was also nominated for her work and as graciously given me the nod which we gladly accept. We love the adventure of getting "out and about" and meeting new bloggers and writers and we gladly follow back.  Thank you Kaija for thinking us worthy of the Liebster Awards . Forgive us for the late "acceptance speech".  Life has been inundated with family-life, exams & presentations, since we're in the world of students again, and research for our new looks on the blog.

Found: The TShirt Dress

I found myself at the Mall of Millenia, a high-end mall the other day, Amanda and I went on a little adventure at which I was very excited. This mall is a bit farther away from us so we don't get there as often. It was about time I visited H&M...oh my love for that store has increased!!!  While I was there, I wanted to grab a handful of clothing and run to the fitting room, but I had a hard time finding my size.  Where were the larger sizes for us curvy girls??!!  I thought there was a sectioned for plus size-didn't see if one and couldn't find sizes for me. Jersey Maxi Dress w/raw edges at arms & slit It was a busy place so I couldn't ask anyone who worked there (I saw so few employees), but the store was pretty busy... however after looking around, I saw a dress I liked, a large was the largest size, I picked one in each color, a black and a grey;  it was a tee-shirt style, cotton-jersey material; with a round neckline and a slit that had me won...
