Glossary of Fashion Terms

I've learned some new words used in Fashion, and gotten familiar with some I used to know! (like my pun - love that song!lol!)  But seriously, it's always good to have an idea what some of these fashion stylists, magazines and bloggers are talking about when it comes to Fashion, don't you agree?  So I've made a note of some of those popular terminology and shared them with you curvy divas!

Baroque = Embroidered, ornate designs

Oxblood = Burgundy-like, blood red colors

On-Trend = Stylish, trendy

Chiconomics = living fashionably well, despite the economy [similar to Recessionista]

Recessionista = fashion trendsetter who doesn't let the economy stop their style

Mega = Cool [as in really, really cool]

Ferosh = a combination of someone who is fashionably fierce and not afraid to show their ferociousness - a terminology coined by Project Runway's Christian Soriano.

Boyfriend = clothing/fashion borrowed from your boyfriend

Fruit Salad = combination of prints worn together that are big and bold

Lust-have = a piece of clothing that you must have immediately

Fashion 2.0 = bringing fashion & technology together, digitally, and streaming in real-time

Peek-a-boo = small cut-out shapes in clothing that shows off the body

Door Knockers aka Chandeliers = earrings that are chin length or super long

Granny-chic = clothing inspired by your grandmother for a stylish look

Intense = amazing or special

Flatforms = flat, platform shoes or slippers

Like = as in the Facebook Like Button to show how much you really like something

Swag = on trend and stylish

Wowzers = something unexpected, good or bad

Fast Fashion = clothing from the catwalk that are reproduced for sale to the stores, in line with the trends & for quick steady sale

Fashion Tribe = a group of people that dresses the same way, as in Goth, Hipster, Bohemian, etc.
